Terms of Service
Last Updated: Oct 2026
Please read these Terms of Service carefully before submitting a mail-in repair request. By accessing our website or shipping your device to Laptop Board Repair (the "Company," "we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by the conditions outlined below.
We specialize in advanced, component-level motherboard and logic board diagnostics and micro-soldering. Our standard core services cover Asus, Dell, Lenovo, LG, and HP laptops, as detailed on our dynamic active Services page. Our specialized services are strictly limited to hardware assessment and physical component-level repair.
We reserve the absolute right to decline or cancel service on any device at any stage of the process for any reason. Reasons for refusal include, but are not limited to:
- Unsafe, heavily contaminated, or biologically hazardous devices.
- Devices with severely swollen or physically punctured lithium batteries.
- Devices that have been heavily tampered with, butchered, or scorched by previous low-quality repair attempts.
- Legacy or modern devices that fall completely outside our supported brand listings and schematic access databases.
A diagnostic fee of $114.00 CAD applies to all incoming mail-in evaluations and is strictly non-refundable. This fee compensates for expert labor, schematic analysis, and forensic troubleshooting. We provide an official repair estimate prior to micro-soldering or part replacement, and repairs proceed only after explicit customer approval (via email, text, or verbally).
Our typical turnaround time is 2 to 4 weeks. You acknowledge that this timeline is a good-faith estimate dependent on international parts availability, complex schematic tracking, and uncovering underlying secondary circuit faults. Delays may occasionally occur due to supply-chain shortages or unforeseen electronic complications.
You are solely responsible for securely packaging, addressing, and shipping your device to our facility. We are not liable for physical damage, carrier theft, or transit losses on the way to us.
Risk of loss shifts entirely to you the moment we hand the outbound package over to the return carrier (Canada Post, UPS, or FedEx). While standard return shipping is included in the flat rate, we highly recommend purchasing third-party shipping insurance.
- ❌ Unrepairable / No Fix: Only pay the non-refundable $114.00 CAD diagnostic fee.
- ✔️ Successful Repair: Authorized Flat Rate Repair fee is $380.00 CAD, which covers both repair labor and standard return shipping.
If a device is unrepairable due to severe PCB substrate charcoal burning, layer delamination, or unavailable proprietary ICs, the $114.00 CAD diagnostic fee remains due.
Advanced micro-soldering and voltage injection carry inherent structural risks on compromised circuitry (e.g., a 50% success rate on severe liquid or surge damage). We are not liable if an already unstable or dead device degrades further or stops intermittent functionality during testing.
Devices left unpaid, unapproved, or unclaimed for more than thirty (30) calendar days following formal notification will be legally deemed abandoned. On the 31st day, the Company reserves the absolute right to dismantle, recycle, harvest parts, or sell the hardware to cover costs with zero remaining liability or compensation owed.
We offer a 60-day limited warranty on specific parts replaced and precision labor performed, starting from the delivery date shown on return tracking. This warranty excludes physical impact, dropping, liquid exposure, software/virus issues, secondary component failures, or devices tampered with by third parties.
Laptop Board Repair assumes absolute zero liability for data loss, file corruption, or storage media failure. Electrical shorts, power rail failures, and liquid exposure frequently corrupt data prior to arrival. You are solely responsible for backing up your data before shipping. Data recovery is a separate service and is never guaranteed.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages (such as lost profits or business interruption). Our total cumulative liability shall be strictly capped at and shall never exceed the exact dollar amount paid by you for the specific service under dispute.
