Service Policies
Thank you for choosing our mail-in laptop repair service. To ensure absolute transparency and a smooth experience, please review our service policies carefully before sending in your device. By shipping your device to us, you agree to these terms.
Every mail-in laptop undergoes a thorough diagnostic evaluation to isolate the root cause of failure. Diagnostic Fee: A non-refundable diagnostic fee applies to all incoming devices. If you approve the subsequent repair quote, this fee is fully credited toward your final repair bill.
Once diagnostics are complete, we contact you via email or phone with your repair options, estimated costs, and turnaround times (standard turnaround is typically 2 to 4 weeks). We will never proceed with a paid repair without your explicit approval.
Send only the laptop itself unless specifically requested otherwise. You are responsible for safely packaging your device using a rigid box with at least 2 inches of bubble wrap (never use soft mailers).
We strongly advise using a trackable shipping method with adequate insurance to our Winnipeg facility. Outbound return shipping charges will be calculated and added to your final invoice, requiring a signature upon delivery.
While we boast a high success rate, some devices may be unrepairable due to severe multilayer board degradation, liquid corrosion, or proprietary parts unavailability.
Prior Work Disclaimer: If your laptop has been previously worked on, heated, or modified by another repair shop or a DIY attempt, our success rate drops significantly, and we reserve the right to decline service or apply a "prior attempt fee".
Liquid damage is progressive and highly destructive. While we utilize advanced ultrasonic cleaning and micro-soldering, microscopic corrosion can continue to spread under integrated circuits over time. Our standard warranty on liquid-damaged devices applies strictly to specific replaced or repaired components.
We specialize in micro-soldering and component-level circuit diagnostics, including:
- "No Power" states
- Shorted components
- Failed charging ports
- Corrupted BIOS chips
If we cannot fix the specific issue we quoted you for, you do not pay for labor. Note: The initial non-refundable diagnostic fee is excluded from this policy.
Data loss can happen during complex board-level repairs. You are solely responsible for backing up all software, data, and files before shipping your device. We are not liable for lost, corrupted, or compromised data. If your laptop won't turn on and you need data recovered, request our dedicated Data Recovery Service beforehand.
Successful board-level repairs are backed by a 60-day limited warranty on specific parts replaced and exact labor performed.
Additionally, we make three contact attempts over 30 days following service completion or unrepairable notices. Devices left unclaimed for more than 30 days are considered legally abandoned and may be recycled, sold, or stripped for parts.
